Baseball is a popular sport followed throughout the United States and Boise, Idaho cannot be left behind. Residents of Boise, Idaho follow baseball religiously and support their team whole heartedly. The official team Boise hawks are a short season ‘A‘classification minor league baseball team. This team is currently in association with Chicago cubs and acts as a farm team for them. The team is owned and operated by Boise Baseball, LLC.

The Hawks team was formed in 1987 as an independent member of North West League. In 1990 they joined the California Angels organization and later in 2001 they got officially associated with Chicago Cubs. The team logo consists of a flying hawk and the jerseys are a combination of white and blue.

Boise Hawks play their home matches at Memorial stadium in Garden City. The Memorial Stadium was inaugurated in 1989 and has a 3,500 seating capacity. The Baseball stadium is on the banks of Boise River. It is here that all the fans of Boise Hawks gather to see their home team play. It is indeed a wonderful experience to watch a game at the Memorial stadium. The Boise Hawks have 6 titles under their name namely in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 2002 and 2004. They also have 9 division titles the most recent being in the 2006. As per the statistics on the official website the best players in 2009 were Hak Ju Lee with an average of 0.33 in batting and Robert Hernandez with an IP of 72.1 in pitching. The Boise Hawks have to improve their performance in minor league as the last title they got was in 2004.

Baseball is also played at various levels in Boise, Idaho. It is an integral part of all the universities and is played and followed actively among colleges. It is one of the most followed sports in Boise like most of the United States.
